New Year's Eve

Well, at least I am not being violently sick on the last day of the year. Yesterday was a complete wash out. I have really bad toothache and then I was horribly sick. Today I just have toothache and I can live with that!

Went to High St Ken today to cheer myself up and went to Wagamamas for lunch which was yum - although they do not do one main course I like, the starters are delish. Went mad in Lush and got Nigella's baking tins with 20% off! Tomorrow I shall bake and take down all my xmas decs. I am such a party animal!

Tonight MrT and I are going to Paul and Dell's. I am hoping to talk them all into poker. Mwaahahahaha!

The quilt is DONE!

At last, after two weekends of dedicating myself to The Quilt, it is finally complete. I have a very sore finger as I got a thimble far too late in the proceedings. I am now admiring it. Alot. A two year old is not going to appreciate the weeks of painstaking sewing I have done but her parents better had! I am going to buy a long piece of ribbon to bind it up with and suitable tissue paper. Hurrah!

In other news, I went to Richmond today and into Space NK. I got a lovely Diptique candle for Mr T. His christmas present is now complete. It took ages to choose which fragrance to get. Damm them for making so many lovely ones. I finally plumped for Myrhh although I really wanted Violet as it smelt like heaven but that is a bit girlie and I have to pretend the present is for him.

Also resisted temptation in Phase Eight. Am thinking about the jumper though and this means I had better have it at some point. Please, please be in the sale!

Don't know what to do now my quilt is done. *twiddles fingers*

Maybe I'll make Nigella's peanut biscuits...

Oh, and G&B espresso chocolate did not light my fire either. G&B is not for me. This is a relief quite frankly.

Is it the weekend yet?

Last night was the work christmas dinner. We went to a lovely Italian place on Marlyebone High St (which by the way, I love and adore and want to live there - what fabulous shops!)

Anyway we did a Secret Santa and I think I struck gold as my santa bought me this gorgeous SpaceNK set of soaps in a really nice little black box and some orange blossom lip balm. Wahey!

Am not feeling too great this morning though but I am planning to be at work late since I am the only one is - the rest of them are volunteering for Crisis.

Friday - at last!

I have just emerged from a Ren Rose Oil bath mixed with a Lush Softy. It was gorgeous and I smell lovely if I say so myself. I faced the madness of Regent St determined to finish off my xmas shopping. Mission accomplished. Bank account - empty.

MissDisco, yes Mr T loved his cake thank you for asking, he even took a photo of it! It was a triumph it has to be said. Moist yet light. I still have some left which I shall be diving into later.

I am officially too tired to type anything else!

Chocolate Frenzy!

I have a chocolate orange cake in the oven and two bars of Green & Black chocolate in the kitchen. The cake is for Mr T as it is his birthday this week. It smells divine though so I hope I manage to not dive into it tonight.

I am feeling especially christmassy - I have put my various fairy lights up including the kitsch pink ones around my fridge. This is suprisingly successful in a Mexican sort of way. I might wrap some presents later. If I can stop eating the chocolate for long enough...

Bleary eyed

It was Barbara's "at home" last night. It was most enjoyable since she had it catered AND had three waiters pasing round delicious morsels of yummy food. The whole team (except Babs obviously) came back to mine first to get ready and drink champagne and then we went together to Babs. I want her home and her bank account I must say!

Bit hungover this morning but not too bad since I am a complete lightweight. Sean was unable to surface until 11am by which time I had got up, had breakfast, had a bath, got the paper and made mince pies. *polishes halo*

Just got back from the hell that is Putney on a christmas saturday. The photo album I had bought in NY for Maz to fill with baby photos turned out to not be the right size for the photos I got printed. Most annoying. I now have a new, more expensive one which I am going to have fun filling later. I also got lovely wraping paper and Steff's birthday pressie.

I think people get ruder and more obnoxious every xmas. This stupid woman in Ottakers came up and barked at the shop assistant (who was helpimg me) "where are your christmas cards?" It's a book shop for a start and what happened to the word "please"? Eh? I ask you.
